Md. Tabil Ahammed, a distinguished alumnus of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) program at Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT), has achieved remarkable success in both academic and professional arenas. Graduating in 2021 with an Academic Excellence Award, Tabil’s journey exemplifies dedication and leadership.
After completing his Bachelor’s, Tabil completed an M.Sc. in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET). As a Teaching Assistant in the ECE Department, he contributed to student learning in diverse subjects, including Digital Signal Processing, Microwave Engineering, Antenna Engineering, and Wireless Communications. Currently, Tabil serves as a Research Assistant at KUET, working on a UGC-funded project, showcasing his commitment to innovation.
He is a regular reviewer of several reputed journals. As a researcher, he has amassed over 200 citations on Google Scholar and has published 30+ research articles in IEEE Xplore and Springer Nature web portals. Tabil has also won three Best Paper Awards at various international conferences.
Tabil’s involvement with IEEE has been transformative. He served as the Organizing Secretary of the IEEE Conference on Computing Applications and Systems (COMPAS 2024). Currently, he leads as Chair of IEEE PES Day 2024, driving initiatives for sustainable energy solutions. As Vice Chair of IEEE YESIST12, he promotes technology-driven innovation for global challenges.
During his time at BUBT, he established several IEEE chapters in areas like Photonics and Signal Processing, contributing significantly to the academic community. Recognized for his contributions, Tabil received the Richard E. Merwin Scholarship twice, in 2022 and 2024, and was honored with the Best IEEE CS Student Volunteer Award in 2022 and the Best IEEE CS Professional Volunteer Award in 2023.
Beyond academics, he demonstrated exceptional leadership in extracurricular activities. Tabil served as the Organizing Secretary of the BUBT Photography Club, showcasing his passion for visual storytelling. He also Head of It as Hult Prize at BUBT and played key roles in organizations like the BUBT Social Welfare Club and the BUBT Rover Scout Group, reflecting his dedication to community service and holistic development.
