Project Description

Asif Ahamed, a distinguished graduate of the 3rd intake of the EEE program at BUBT, has charted an impressive career in electrical and energy engineering. He is currently based in California, USA, working as a Project Lead Electrical Engineer in the renewable energy and sustainable fuel sector, where he manages cutting-edge hydrogen energy projects across the U.S., Australia, and Canada.

His academic journey at BUBT built a strong technical foundation in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. From his university days, Asif stood out for his curiosity, leadership, and commitment to engineering excellence. These qualities have led him to contribute to both national and international projects in critical infrastructure and clean energy.

Before moving to the U.S., Asif held several prestigious roles in Bangladesh. He served as Deputy Director of Engineering Services at Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC, where he led industrial power and maintenance projects for one of the country’s largest electronics manufacturers. He also contributed to Bangladesh’s first Nuclear Power Plant (Rooppur) under Max Group, helping manage a $13 billion national infrastructure initiative.

His experience spans telecom (Grameenphone), green building and LEED-certified projects (Alpha Group), and manufacturing and industrial installations (Doreen Group). Asif also served in project planning, fire safety systems, and smart grid integration.

In addition to his professional achievements, Asif is a dedicated community leader. He is the Vice President and a Founding Member of the Bangladeshi International Students Association of California (BiSAC), a non-profit organization that supports and empowers Bangladeshi students across the state.

He is also an active researcher and IEEE Senior Member, with multiple publications in AI-integrated energy systems, smart grids, and renewable energy. Currently, he serves as the Secretary of the IEEE Los Angeles Metro Chapter, representing 11 IEEE units.

Asif’s story reflects a journey from Dhaka to the global stage—built on hard work, innovation, and a passion for future-forward engineering.
