Mehrab Hosain’s academic journey exemplifies determination, resilience, and the transformative power of education. Beginning his education with a Diploma in Electronics Technology from Lakshmipur Polytechnic Institute, Mehrab embarked on a path less traveled. For many diploma students, the journey often ends with limited opportunities, but Mehrab dared to dream bigger.

His determination led him to enroll at BUBT, where he joined the 9th intake of the B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) program, graduating in 2016. It was at BUBT that Mehrab found inspiration in faculty members who had pursued higher education abroad. Their success stories motivated him to set ambitious goals for himself.

In 2021, Mehrab achieved a milestone that few diploma students dare to imagine—he was awarded the prestigious ICCR scholarship by the Indian Government. This scholarship allowed him to pursue an M.Tech in Signal Processing and Digital Design at Delhi Technological University, where he excelled in both academics and research. During his master’s program, Mehrab presented research at two international conferences and contributed a chapter to a reputed academic book, setting the stage for further accomplishments.

Mehrab’s research and academic achievements opened doors to multiple Ph.D. opportunities in 2024. He received offers from prestigious programs, including Dakota State University, Sam Houston State University, and Louisiana Tech University. Ultimately, he chose Louisiana Tech University, where he is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Cyberspace Engineering with a focus on blockchain applications in digital forensics. In recognition of his expertise, he also serves as a Graduate Research Assistant, contributing to cutting-edge advancements in cybersecurity.

What makes Mehrab’s journey truly extraordinary is his transformation from a diploma graduate to an internationally recognized researcher. His undergraduate research at BUBT played a crucial role in securing scholarships and admission offers, demonstrating the value of a solid academic foundation and perseverance.

In addition to his studies, Mehrab contributed to academia as an adjunct faculty member at Tagore University of Creative Arts from November 2023 to August 2024, further cementing his reputation as a dedicated educator and researcher.

Mehrab’s story—a diploma graduate who earned a full-funded Ph.D. scholarship and now researches at the forefront of digital forensics—is a testament to his resilience and ambition. He serves as an inspiration to countless students, proving that with hard work and determination, even the rarest of achievements can become a reality.
